    Default How Not to tile

    Hey guys Ripped brand new marble floor today, 2 newly tiled bathrooms, both floors are failing, no primer, wrong adhesive, and tiling method used: Dot & dab

    What was the adhesive? looks like tubbed wall addy! looks like you can re use a lot of the tiles though?

    it was cement based non flexible adhesive suitable up 6mm thickness, yes I managed to save all the tiles

    All my work is through word of mouth but I cant remember being asked for a reference before... Not ever!

    That really is a terrible job but Im really not surprised, I see so many of these, its a shock when I walk across a tiled floor and I cant feel them move under my feet.

    As you say Dave, when will the public learn? they probably spent a small fortune on the tiles & then they get the cheapest cowboy in town to carry out the job.

    my mother in laws floor is like that rich, she spent a fortune on getting the bathroom tiled a few years ago (before i met the wife) and the floor tiles are creaking. tiled straight onto chipboard. the walls are a disgrace too but the wife has insisted i never mention the quality of work as it will upset her. she's safe there as if i say too much i'll end up redoing it as a freebie
