Re: Quick intro and a couple of qs (primer G and setting out)
what type of screed is it ,and is it just the hallway or does that join with the kitchen

Re: Quick intro and a couple of qs (primer G and setting out)
Thats partially my problem - im not sure. The house is about 15 years old and I believe it is the screed that was laid then, but I am unsure of the type. It is the same all the way through the bottom floor.
the doorway is where the tiling finishes - no hallway or anything, there is laminate flooring the otherside.
Cheers

Re: Quick intro and a couple of qs (primer G and setting out)
You will need to find out what type of screed it is (maybe posting pics might help) as for the set out will need a plan of the whole area to be tiled or maybe a pic with some tiles sitting in the set out you think .

Would I be right in saying that SLC doesnt need Priming?

Re: Quick intro and a couple of qs (primer G and setting out)
does the kitchen measure 1209 with kick board off or with kick board on and whats the distance from the existing flooring to the kick board on the first cupboard

Re: Quick intro and a couple of qs (primer G and setting out)
Its greater than the minimum I need of 1209 with the kickboard on. its actually 1290 with it on, so in theory 81mm too small to have 2 full tiles

Re: Quick intro and a couple of qs (primer G and setting out)
im lost with the kick board on its bigger

Re: Quick intro and a couple of qs (primer G and setting out)
it looks like a power floated floor personally i would prime it it can't hurt. the setting out is personal choice as long as you don't have silly little cuts it is all good.* *

Re: Quick intro and a couple of qs (primer G and setting out)
Well I was up until 1am finishing off and I am well happy with the result. Ended up setting them out as in the pic. I also have a new found respect for tilers - lugging them big tiles about all day is not easy on the back, and I only had about 10m2 to do, god knows what its like on a site.
Just one final question, the tiles I used are 600mm x 600mm porcelain from B&Q - "Loft coal floor tile". I can not see or feel any transit wax on them, and did a small water test earlier and after 2 hours, there was no absorption. Will they need sealing?SAM_1715.jpg
