Default Setting out the concealed toilet frame....

    Guys, quick one...

should I continue the brick bond patten on the back of the toilet frame? or should I centralise the flush button and ignore whats going on, on the wall behind?

the top of the boxing in and the left side will be done in mosaic if that helps

heres a few pics of what I mean

I reckon keep the tiles in LINE with the walls.. but doesnt necessarily matter about where the brick patten starts? So to be neat, I should centralise the flush button.. I mean the damn thing will be glowing! so everyones attention will be drawn to it!

I would match the back, so when looking at it from the front, it's like the box isn't there.....

I'd match the back wall, too.

A quick question Dave....what have you overboarded the frame with? Are you confident that the substrate will not "give" when someone sits on the toilet? You don't want any flex and hence tile cracking mate.

Even though the pan is suspended on 2 threaded bars there will still be a force applied to the rear base (where the back of the pan meets tiles). No matter how strong the tiles this will result in pressure on the substrate. IMO, a cement lined polycore board (i.e. Marmox, Wedi etc.) are not strong enough and will compress with the exerted pressure over time.

I hope you don't experience any issues, given that you have commenced tiling, but Marmox is not a substrate that I would have used.

    Regards,

    Daz

** Just looked at your pics again and it looks as though you are not using a wall hung pan, so ignore everything I said

Gotcha, im sure it will all be fine

Edit, nope its floor mounted and just a concealed grohe cistern!

I see what you mean now if you thought it was suspended! hahah, yes I would never suspend the loo off this thin frame / marmox
