If you work on a building site, you have to have Dust Face Mask Test and have a certificate to prove it

Not sure you understand the point Jay, when cutting tiles you have to wear a dust mask, and now you have to be tested to make sure you are wearing the correct fitting mask, its pc gone mad in the uk,

when i worked in a factory a few years ago we had to wear a 'half face' dust mask. we had to get fit tested annually, we had to say a prewritten verse whilst standing and bending over. the machine piped to the mask would check that a full seal was maintained at all times. we also had to be reasonably clean shaven (under 12 hrs growth) or that would cauuse the seal to fail. was a load of old tosh really cos as soon as the bosses weren't around we took them off

some had goatees which were inside the mask, don't know about anyone who had a beard. if you failed the fit test you weren't allowed to work in the areas where they were mandatory

Contact a decent independant engineers merchant who sell ppe.
They can arrange for a manufacturer's rep to visit and do the fit test foc.

    Trust me. They will.

You will find that HSE are having a big push on dust face masks, i was at a management meeting today and HS officer said that there was serious concerns coming from HSE regarding silicosis, This is a lung disease caused by dust, at least 250 constuction workers died last year from it. So be aware it will come your way if it hasnt already.
