If the Porcelain needs sealing then just go over the joints at the same time.. if not then don't worry.

Dave, thanks and just a quick question. If my tile is the same colour all the way through then it does not require sealing, is that correct. It is a Alfalux Wenge tile. It has a patchy, semi glazed appearance. I think is does not need it but I am not sure. I was thinking the grout would be better protected if I did seal it but I have never used Ultracolour plus before so I was not sure on its properties regarding mould etc long term. Thanks,
    Gusty.

    Use this porosity test.

As for the grout you should be fine but if you are sealing then that will be ok too.

    Hi,
if I can add a question please......

I have just finished a kitchen floor with Mapei Ultraclour plus (chocolate) and Porcelain that doesn't need sealing. How good is this grout at resisting grease staining? Reason is our old floor by the cooker soon got discloured grout due to grease. If you recommend sealing the grout what sealer would be best?

    Ta,
    Roland

Even if you sealed , you still need to clean spillages up ASAP .

Good point! So would sealing still be worth it with this grout or just not needed?

I only seal if its a tile that needs sealing. Not quite sure on these grout sealers, some say they work and others say they dont ?

Universeal have a cracking spray sealer, seen the guys demo today thats me converted no silicone or oil are in there products and the sealer does a good job on grout without altering the colour of the grout or tile.

Just thinking (its not like me). I am sealing my trav with LTP Mattstone on my kitchen floor. Would it help my Beige ultracolour plus if I used LTP on my bathroom shower tiles and grout. It would save me a few quid instead of buying Universeal or similar. My tiles are porc and do not need sealing specifically. I just hate mouldy stained grout. If LTP would help protect it? Thanks
