Preparing surface before tile??
My kitchen had the laminate from the counters go up the wall to thebottom of the top cupboards for a backsplash. I just tore it off and getting ready to put in a porcelain backsplash. When we tore off the laminate there is some glue in spots and other areas are where top layer of sheet rock peeled off. Thus the area is not even but not way off either. Do I need to do anything before I tile or I can just tile over this. The tile I am thinking about useing is called Marazzi Montagna Belluno Noce Porcelain from Home Depot. It comes in a 12 x 12 mesh sheet and looks like travertine bricks. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I have never done this before. Thank you so much for any advice!

Re: Preparing surface before tile??
i would sand the glue to remove it. ensure the walls are really flat and smooth for a good finish. best to use white adhesive and press the mosaics on using a grout float to ensure they're fixed flat and smooth

Walls need to be spot on for the trav sheets..

Re: Preparing surface before tile??
As above, make sure the walls are as flat as possible, an extra couple of hours prep will give you a much better finish
