    Default Do I need to grout my tiles?

    Bought some of these for my kitchen floor (concrete)

    Porcelain Floor Tile - Wall Tiles - Tiles -Tiles & Floors - Wickes

    Just wondering if they will need "sealing" prior to grouting? Can't find anything on the website.

    are they glazed porcelain or polished porcelain?.....you only need to seal polished pors..

    Hmmmm, not sure to be honest, they aren't shiny, more of a matt textured finish, looking at google image they appear to be glazed...

    no need to then .....just lay them and grout..

    Do the water test. Put a few drops of water on it, and if it darkens the colour after half hour, it's porous therefore will need sealing, if it doesn't and sits on top of the tile like it would on a highly polished car roof, then it doesn't need sealing.

    Just for the record lads, that's right isn't it?

    (Note - I stopped tiling a long time ago)

    easier to look on the box dan.......you normaly find tiles from the diy sheds that need sealing will be printed on the box...

    Dry marker test? put a line on the tile with a white board pen, rub it off with your finger, if there is no sign of the line they are glazed, if the line is still visible they are polished
