Default Tiling 2 substrates wood to concrete

I have a floor to tile which is half wood and other half concrete. Client wants it diamond. I know that I will require an expansion strip between the 2 substrates but cause she wants it diamond this has made it impossible. So would it be acceptable to over ply the lot and tile with flex adhesive. How would you fix ply to concrete (plug and screw). Or compound that can be put down so the floors move a same rate?? Newly qualified!!

Sorry the pic is not the best, one side of exp joint is grouted the other not. Looks a bit iffy (cushion edge)

You could try and use the expansion joint in your setting out, like a full tile cut in half on the diamond..may work out may not, worth a try..
