    hiya friends, need to tile a conservatory floor ,but still have acsess to a manhole cover & a stopcock

    and theyre 600mm sq porcelain , areas are near the walls away from main foot traffic

    what is it you're asking steve? there are off the shelf covers available or you can make your own with chrome tile trim

    Image0161.jpg you can get manhole covers that you build up to the correct level, then tile the inside to match the outside, as shown in the photo..

    Could put them down with weak mixture mainly sand and silicone the joint so they would come up easily but keep some spare tiles in case

    thanks lads, client wants it to look as it should tiled

    so PJC is on the right track, thought about laying a layer of thick membrane on the floor first ,cheers

    the stopcock needs quick and easy access in case of emergency. you're best not sealing it in i.m.o.
