Default Kitchen floor and wall tile help!

Hi, i wanted to ask advice on floor and wall tiles - i am completely stuck! I have just bought a white high gloss kitchen with a solid oak work-top and am unsure what floor and wall tiles to buy. The problem is the kitchen is very small (about 2 metres x 2 metres). I was looking at a 30x10cm white wall tile; a chocolate coloured square floor tile and possibly a chocolate/brown coloured glass splash-back - although i am not sure if this would match; would it be too white? not enough colour? too cold? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The last high gloss white kitchen I fitted had a black granite worksurface, so not quite the same as yours but we did use a 300x100mm white wall tile. The customer didn't want it to look too clinical so decided to use a glass mosaic with chrome strips to break up the white, maybe something similar might be good for you.

Have you considered glass tiles, I love the look of glass mosaics on a splashback, and the colours should be easy to match up.

A lot of kitchens have zero wall tiling.. this is the trend at present..most will have upstands to match worktop and then a glass cooker splash.. just depends on taste really.

Travertine on the floor goes well with wooden worktops colour wise but again is taste IMO..

Go to the tile shop once the kitchen is installed and then get samples and bring them home.. might be wise not to try and choose before it is installed if nothing grabs you straight away..

Lets us know how you get on.

As what Dave says above. Get the kitchen in first then you will have a better idea. If it is small then best not to make it too busy...but try your local tile shop and they will keep you right...tiles are fairly permanent so better to do it correct and just how you want it...the first time! Good luck.
