Bathroom Floor advice needed pls....
Hi All,
Have a tiling job to do for a friend of mine. Its his bathrom floor upstairs 4sqmtrs. The existing tiles appear to fine although the grout seems to be cracking up.
He wants to replace these tiles and put down new ones as part of re decorating. My question is do i try to bring the tiles up and adhesive or bring the existing board up and put down some sort of tile board ie Hardi.
Dont want to be wasting time in scraping old adhesive.
Also, would the cracking grout be a result of expansion/movement etc or something more sinister below the surface??
Any help greatly recieved

Best way would be to dive in and see what removing the tiles reveals !

As above, take up and evaluate the situation.

Re: Bathroom Floor advice needed pls....
In my experience, 9 out of 10 bathroom floor with cracked grout / loose tiles is a result / combination of 6mm ply overlay with ring shank nails, and or poor quality adhesive, and or poor fixing.

What is the standard? 12mm board for floors? Will probably use Hardi 12mm
