    Default Slate Tiling ufh

Going to qoute a job tomorrow, slate tilng with ufh on a conservatory floor. Do i lay a self leveller over the matting, and is a single flexible adhesive sufficient. Any other advice would be most helpful. Thanks Tony

Before you self level the ufh mat make sure fix the wire down with some addy or tape...the slc can creep under the wires and lift them slightly which won't help when you start fixing the tiles.

I always take extra care to make sure the matting is fixed down securely, I've seend UFH almost floating on SLC which also means there's a chance of damaging the wire with your trowel..... not good!

this is how I do it on a concrete substrate, in the first pic you can see the ufh wires under the slc, which in turn is on top of insulation boards

As Beam, I think you meant ufh mat. I would not advise tiling directly onto ufh, much better to slc first, imo

Have you thought about using a de-coupler too?

Same as Phil, you'll be setting youself up for a lot of problems if you try and tile directly onto the ufh mat, i'd definately self level it first
