Re: Fantastic news from 365Drills. PATTENT FULLY GRANTED.
As you can imagine the mood is celabratory here. We have had a rotten month.
Wont go into details but the factory we shared in Sheffield went bust.
I am having to relocate the factory down south to Hoddesdon. Moving 2nd July.
As anyone knows moving is disruptive and expensive. Got to have all the machinery sent down with special equipment for commercial moving.
To keep costs down we shared the factory with 10 small companies. Out of the 10 companies EIGHT were not paying their bills on time.
So the management went bankrupt and shut down. Grrrr.
Although the Patent news is good and lifts the spirits the agro of the relocation is still very real.
Please note we have produced enough stock for 2 months. So no chance of running out even if the production machines stop running. But we will get our move done quickly.
I think they call it Karma or something (ying and yang) all that.

Re: Fantastic news from 365Drills. PATTENT FULLY GRANTED.
That's really impressive Richard, I used to translate patents for patent agents (what a pain that was) and do know what a lengthy and strict process it is, let alone costly. So very very well done, and I second Dave's notion, that a move most likely means good news, more obvious when the stress of it has passed.

Re: Fantastic news from 365Drills. PATTENT FULLY GRANTED.
So the Patent is for the guide plate and the hole cutters..? So does this mean similar ones now cannot be sold.?
Just to make it clearer as to what it covers.

Nice vid.
Congratulations on the patent Richard! Very well done! You must be proud!
Go get the copycats now and let them license your gear or something. Make a few quid out of the competition. Never a bad thing.

Re: Fantastic news from 365Drills. PATENT FULLY GRANTED.
Cheers Dan. Yes somethign we are doing straight away (to gain maxiumum exposure) is creating posts like this, Youtube, Website, Blogs as well as printed media like TileUK and Tile&Stone. That way potential immitators can easily read [find] the information so we hope they will be presuded not to copy. But we will also go on the offensive for any infrigement. Of course the reason we are doing it this way round is that its easier to prevent than prohibit hence the early efforts to get the news out. One thing we know for sure is that A LOT of companies tried to file similar (its just we got there first in 2005). And the fact they tried to file is a good indication they want to make something commercial.
We may have to conceed that with Tabby Cranks it is too time consuming to persue in the courts: RE: his jig made from an offcut tile.
