You won't see the post when your've posted but when it is answered it will appear when viewing the posts

Craig, if you go to the thread tools link above, on the right of the page, click on the menu there, go to subscribe to this thread, and then an option comes up that enables you to get an email notification. This also gives you an option to give yourself folders where you can keep certain subscribed threads in, very handy
