Hi Everyone, just finished my first job 22 m2 with glass mosaic never done mosaic before was very nervous about job took me 4 days to complete walls were a nightmare i think the plaster has never worked with a level it was that bad, i did what i could and the prat who was on site said i was to slow and his tiler would of done it in 3 days and at the end of job he said good effort he nearly got a slap. The lady who owns the housAttachment 29278e came by because it was an insurance job saw my tiling and was so impressed with it she wants me to do her shower room so that shut that prat upAttachment 29277 hear is a photo

Re: New member saying Hi
Looks good from the pics mate, ignore people like that. You will come across the biggest morons in this trade, everybody thinks they are an expert but it is shocking how few people (even pro tilers) have the first idea what they are talking about.
You impressed the customer, that is all that matters. Do that on every job you do and you will be laughing

Re: New member saying Hi
Thanks for the reply, i had the camera wonky on some of the pics, but yes i was proud of it and i cant see how faster you can be when the walls were that out, at the bottom of the wall i had to dab a fair bit of adhesive on the tiles to level them out and nearly every other tile i had problems with, my dad popped round to see my work and he was shouting out who the .... plastered this wall and the moron on site said his tiler doesnt complain about the plasterer so i must persume he must be a cowboy as well, and i told him that and he didnt say anything back. At the end of the day i did long hours on that job and i did it right i just think he was a full time pratt, but i havent been paid yet so i had to bite my tongue.Anyway thanks for the feed back.

Re: New member saying Hi
Hi Russ well done mate the job looks great and the customer is happy. . . thats the bit that counts.
I bet it was tricky tiling the ceiling though. . . ha ha
Sounds like you have met 1 amongst many pratts in this game and you've come through it. . . just smile and carry on, as others have said speed comes with time, but quality comes with patience.
Well done

Re: New member saying Hi
Russ - on the first photo I thought you'd tiled the ceiling
The work looks fine and as you know, speed will come.
But you will have to work hard in this trade and in the building industry to overcome the prejudice/banter (whichever view you have) against tiling.
Attack is not normally the best form of defence IMO, but jovial backchat, humour and of course doing the job right is the best reply.

Re: New member saying Hi
Hi Russ and welcome. I'm quite new to this as well so I'm still slow (at least compared to my mate who's been tiling for 16 years) - but I'm pretty sure I get quicker with each job, and I'm sure you will too! As long as the quality is good and the customer is happy, what more can you ask.
