Help with skirting tile installation! Novice at this!
We are tiling a single wall with brick metro tiles and plan to install skirting tiles above wooden floor boards. Have a few questions:
- Which first? wall tiles or skirting tiles?
- do i need to leave a gap between the floorboards and skirting tiles and if so how do you do this?
- Do you need a different adhesive for skirting tiles compared to wall tile adhesive?
- any other advice re. the best way to apply metro tiles in a brick pattern?
This is our first attempt at any tiling whatsoever and i suspect we are making things complicated for ourselves! :-))! Any help appreciated :-)

It's a bathroom and we are having exposed floorboards that will be painted - we're going for the traditional victorian look.

Start with the wall tiles, make sure they are flat for a brick bond pattern other wise you will have lipping occuring..
What are your walls constructed of, plaster etc..I take it your tiles are ceramic.
The skirting tiles I would put on after the wall tiles but use a single part flexible powdered adhesive...leave a small gap under the skirting to the floorboards...when you finally get to painting the floor then run a silicone bead to the bottom of the skirting tile.
