That would be a nightmare to do, where will you be tiling to.
"Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes"
i would be tiling to bare brick

I mean what area, bathroom, kitchen etc

bathroom

why dont you dot dab new plaster board on to the walls

As above, the brickwork would have be dead flat, which in most cases it is not.

hi cooper, the preperaration of the room is very important,as above i would dot and dab the walls with plasterboard and drywall adhesive and also 6mm ply is too thin if the floors defelction free a 6mm cement board froma tile shop will do the job
have you tiled before cooper

tile backer boards or plaster board with tanking kit everyday for me, prep and prevention is most important
yes i have tiled before but only wall tiles
can i use 6mm aqua panel on walls
No you cant. 12mm aqua panel for walls. If ive got this right youve taken down the tiles and the plaster has come off with the tile exposing the bare brick. You then say your only tiling half way up the wall. Has alot of plaster come off or is it patchy? If its patchy then i would patch the areas up to be tiles with bals quickset render can tile on it after 4hrs. The other areas which i persume will be painted id patch back up with plaster then when dry paint. If most of the plaster came off then do what everyone else says knock off all plaster and dot and dab new plasterboard.
Hi there, def knock all the old plaster off then dot dab new plaster or board!....then tank it

Cooper are you tiling a shower area?
yes i am tiling a shower area but i will be using 12.5mm aqua panel but could i use 6mm aqua panel on the wall where i have bare brick this wall is nowhere near the shower area

Just dot and dab some 12.5mm plasterboard where your going to be using the 6mm aqua board.

Sounds like a lot of messing around you are planing to do.
Take off all the old plaster then fix new plasterboards to the wall with the dot and dab method.
It is possible to tile onto brick, but only a skilled tiler can do this. It is very hard and can take a lot of time to get it right. So I think the above method is the best way to go.
