There ceramic tiles 33x33cm. Screwed the ply every 6 inch. Can you not just go straight onto the ply. You need to prime ? Whats the best way for that.

Hi there 12 mm ply isn't really suitable for the floor prep as 15 mm is the minimum recommended thickness... If you have zero deflection in the floor, i would recommend over-boarding with 6 mm hardie or no more ply to give you a good substrate to tile onto.

It was just a 1 week course and forgot some of the things alot to take in. I remember them saying that you could use 12mm-15mm on the floors if they were solid enough. Alot of the adhesives etc were always mentioned to go with Bal and just wondered if there was anything just as good. So i would be best to go and get some 6mm hardie as it could end up a disaster

hi pl1976, you can buy addy and grout from CTD(next to Grahams plumbing) or Tile Giant(next to Peter Vardy) on Seafield,
My word is worth more than money.

Yep a know where you mean. Will have to get some hardie first. I take it the tiles will just come loose or crack if i dont? Not worth the gamble.

And you don't prime the the tiling surface of ply either, sides and back only if possible.
    Def go for the hardie.
