Walls Aquapanel and plasterboard - Question
Hi guys
I've just finished installing Aquapanel (to one wall) and plasterboard to the rest.
I'm I correct:
i) Seal all of the joints with tape, but I don't need to skim over the tape prior to tiling.
I have aquapanel tape will this be ok for the plasterboard as well or do I need a
different tape. Do I also need to fill between the gaps first?
ii) I don't use PVA on any of the wall surfaces prior to tiling, but I need to prime it?
iii) The floor is a little uneven (minor imperfections) will the floor addy compansate
for this?
Thanks for you help as always
Simon.

Re: Walls Aquapanel and plasterboard - Question
Hi Simon, tape all the joints with the aquapanel tape and just skim over the joints as you tile. Bare plasterboard does not need priming and I don't think the aquapanel does either, but double check that via their helpline if necessary. If your imperfections on the floor are only 2/3mm the adhesive will sort that if any bigger, consider SLC if the floor is concrete, if the floor is wood then you should overboard with a cement board (providing there is no bounce) to give you a better surface to tile to.

Re: Walls Aquapanel and plasterboard - Question
Just a question Simon. Why the two different types of board? Is the aquapanel in a wet area and the plasterboard in a dry area. If the aquapanel butts up against an existing wall I would silicone the gap at that point.

Re: Walls Aquapanel and plasterboard - Question
Thanks Guys
Easyt: The room is only a cloakroom and will not get wet at all. We are going to use the same 300 x 600mm tiles on the floor and one wall (wall with AquaPanel) We were informed by Tile Flaire to install Ply on this wall due to the weight, however after reading quite a few posts on here I took many of the pro's advice (to others) and went for a different board to plaster or ply.
However looking at cutiecat's photos I hope mine don't end up as bad by doing it myself!!!
Still need to find out whether the aquapanel needs priming and with what?
Regards
Simon.

Re: Walls Aquapanel and plasterboard - Question
hello
I would prime plasteboard if you planing to use baged adhesive, aquapanel don't need priming, just wet it with sponge prior to tiling
ady will compensate little bit uneven floor, if it's a lot then you better pour some latex on the floor.
good luck
