floor tiling from wood suspended across concrete lintel
Dear all, Hi,
Have read much and gained much good advice, cheers.
I am planning to floor tile a kitchen/diner suspended floor. Take up boards, replace with primed 25mm WBP ply, back board, and tile. (might even put in some UFH!)
Problem is that the kitchen floor is separated from the dining floor by a concrete lintel about 10" wide.
If I get he levels right and ensure that the backer board spans and is fixed to both wood sides and the concrete should this be stable? I am worried about getting cracks at the change of substrate.
Other plan could be to place a wide wood strip between floors but I would prefer a continual tile floor I think.
Thanks for reading and any advice.

What type of suspended floor is it ?

joists with boards over cavity. I will add in extra noggins. I assume that the floor lintel is the remenants of the wall between kitchen and dining floor that a past owner has opened out.

I would allow a movement joint over the lintel on the floor, even if it means a cold joint.

Cheers for the reply, by a codl joint in tile terms, do you mean having the dining tiles and and kitchen tiles separated by a small gap?

In the joint where you would grout use a silicone the same colour as the grout for your controlled joint, allowing for any movement.
