repairing plasterboard
afternoon folks
went to see a job this morning where the customer has thrown the tiler off site after an awfull job. understandably the customer is well out of pocket on this job as the fella didnt come cheap. i have made him take off two walls of existing plasterboard and i will put up aquaboard.
but on the wall where the sink unit is etc he really does not want to reboard and there is only minimal damage to the plasterboard after he ripped of tiles, you know when the addy rips of the paper of the board and exposes the gypsum and a few small holes as well. am i right in thinking i should just prime these areas and fill with adhesive or should i use rapid render.
cheers
dom

Re: repairing plasterboard
I did this to my bathroom too! I replaced damaged sections with aquapanel and repaired other sections with plaster. I believe I will have to prime these areas with something like primer G (Mapei) before tiling.
I'm only a novice, but would seem like the correct thing to do.

Re: repairing plasterboard
cheers mate,
i dont like having to do patching up but its a nice job that needs finishing ASAP , plus i have already demanded he replace shower area with aquaboard, and take of shower unit back to the copper 1st fix aswell as the rad, so this was my compromise.
I have seen some rapid render being used before but was not sure what depts you could go to or what backing is suitable

Re: repairing plasterboard
If there are only a few bit to repair, prime the exposed gypsum and fill with your adhesive when you do your prep work.
