    Default Italian marble job

Hi, just been out to see a customer for a quote, she told me over the phone that the tiles were marble, but when i got there the tiles were not polished she told me her friend had the same one's fitted and the tiler came over from Italy to fit them... obviously plenty of money. She said they ground them down and polished them bit like tarrazo i think, anyway has anyone fitted these tiles before seems like a specialist job to me. The tiles are 600x300 Cheers Mick

Fitting probably would'nt but the polishing would be.

Ground them down? The only times to grind them down and re-polish would be if they were lipping...or putting a 1mm or 0mm joint in them. Even then your never going to get the same degree of polish as a factory finish.

With the right machine etc, it is easily possible.. That is how all these flat shiny hotels abroad are done lol

The type of work I fancy moving into, stone finishing is an art

Its really quite easy if you have the right tools, im a terrazzo layer but sometimes jump onto the polishing if needed, you would have to polish them with a very fine disc as the ruff discs will just leave bad scratches.

Look at my site just put a before and after shot of some stairs i polished yesterday.www .gcterrazzo.co.uk
