Default hi.. really need some help please

this is the first time I've ever used a forum and now wish I'd read it before I had my kitchen floor tiled! I had 600x600 polished porciline, cleaned with qep heavy duty cleaner after they were laid, then sealed with the qep inpregnator. now my beautiful floor is covered in foot prints and smears! I have read some of the advice here and buffed it 4 times now with clean cloths but it's still the same. It's being grouted in 2 days... any help is much appreciated!!

Not heard of QEP products but it sounds to me like the sealant was left on too long before it was cleaned off. You may need to remove it and start again. LTP grimex to clean and one of their impregnators (not sure which one off-hand) should do the job.

thanks for the prompt reply. Don't think I was very clear before..(newbie!!) the foot prints disappear when I rebuff it but if i walk on it they return and its still smeary in places. Do you think I've put too much on?

Without seeing the problem it is a little hard to tell but it shouldn't be smeary really. If it is being grouted in a couple of days it may be worthwhile leaving it until the grouting is done and then re-do it if you are still not happy. That way you can seal your grout too.

Thanks again, I will take your advice and wait until it's been grouted. In the mean time will I have to keep buffing it or should I just leave it? I just did it again and it looks a little better although the foot prints need a bit more elbow grease now!!! (I'm starting to wish I still had a concrete floor!!)

Most impregnators need any surplus left on the tiles removed after a short while

This might be of some helpresidue left after sealing polished porcelin

I just replied to the thread you linked me with (many thanks) want to know if he solved his problem. I just buffed the floor again! and it is starting to look a little better. Had a professional lay them same person will return to grout them. If it hasn't improved by this evening I will try the advice of 'small amount of sealer and buff straight away' (obviously not while spurs are beating arsenal!!)
thanks so much for all your advice. I will post again so others will know if it was resolved.
