Victorian style garden path

Hi,
I'd like to replace my dull old concrete slab garden path with a fancy victorian style tiled one and would be grateful for some help. I know from searching the forums there's some experts on this subject on here!

The path is pretty much a simple rectangle, 330cm long x 90cm wide, with a smaller section 20cm long x 80cm wide just in front of the front door.

Any idea roughly how much I should be budgeting for say something like this? (for materials and labour)

I appreciate you can't give really accurate costs with sketchy information like this, but a rough figure would be a big help so I can prepare my wallet for the pain
I've read that a (3"?) concrete base would be used for this type of path - is this something that as tilers you'd normally take care of, or is it more usual for this to have been done before you arrive on the scene?

I'll be having my garden wall rebuilt soon and could get the builder to quote for the base too - the current slabs are just sat on soil.

Final questions (for now!) - I've already looked at and read a fair bit about Original Style tiles, but in my googling I also found London Mosaic sheeted tiles - are they also worth considering?

Most of the tilers that i know who do this type of work normally prepare their own concrete bases and normally give an all in supply and fit rate, prices depend on which tiles you choose whether they be winkelmans,original style,old english or topcer all vary in price and some manufacturers will do the set out drawing for you if you send them the dimensions that said, the tilers that specialise in this work can do the setting out without too much problems ,its not cheap but done well will add value to your home good luck with it and please post pictures of the finished job

Home*-*Olde Engish Tiles is a good starting point when planning these sort of floors they do not sell tiles direct to public but will put you in contact with someone in your area.
i called and asked for a catalogue for my personal reference, and it arrived next day.

good advice from garythetiler it wont be cheap. but amazing results when finished.....i have a real passion for this sort of quality work. the grafham design is my favorite 3-D looking. with a double dogs tooth boarder. phowwar.(tile filth)

Everything is build for speed and as cheaply as possible nowadays and lasts no time.
get a good tiler and this project will be there for people to enjoy for the next couple of hundred years. good luck

the pattern in the picture is called ennerdale and prices start @ arround £66m2 -£155m2 from originalfeatures.co.uk depending on the tile sizes in the pattern

Thanks for the links & companies - very helpful to start getting an idea of prices.
I think I'll just get the wall done by the builder and leave the base prep to the tiler.

Hi Rob, the design in the picture is pretty straight forward, compered to most geometric patterns. It is not very complex, but as above get a good tiler, well versed in this type of work. Good luck
