is everyone busy or quiet, very quiet here at the moment

I've picked up really nicely after a slow start to the year, beginning of June is my first available slot now. Hope things pick up round your way. There was a post for a tiler required in Bangor either yesterday or this morning, have you looked at that?
In general I think from what I can tell, it's picking up well for certain area's. But inevitably there are plenty of areas with more tilers than customers, and lots of customers doing DIY even.

Very quiet here not sure why as the year actually started off great but has since died.

the last 6 months have been the worst ever for me,even thought about advertising, been in the building game 25 years or more and never advertised, only seem to get the tricky or the stuff that my plumbers and builders havent got the right equipment for at the moment,so new contacts are welcome lol.

Bri Pleased things are going well for you buddy

All good here I'm glad to say and long may it stay that way. Know a few guys that are really struggling just now, but with some of them, it's definitely down to a bad rep.....

Really good at the moment got jobs booked into july having to work weekends to keep everyone happy ,long may it last

i got 5 bathrooms to do at the moment but i just got home from hospital after a big op so i'll be out of action for a bit![]()
I'm just about ticking over after a terrible February - been in a Tile Giant and Topps today one says they've had a really good weekend over the region the other says its been really quiet for the region over the weekend?!?!?

7 days last week, 3 days this week, next week starting to be very busy again
really quiet for me after a good start to the year. im sure things will pick up
Not to bad at the mo, booked up for next 5 weeks with my own work , also doing sub work for an other tiler m8 who is always busy.
so so start to the year then three weeks with only a couple of days each. Dire. Scary. Sudden rush from a couple of regulars and now I'm booked through into May. Mind you with all the BH's in April & May that doesn't take a lot!
Had more repairs and s*** jobs that the builders and plumbers were either frightened of or I needed to put them right. Some nice big stone work coming up. Horrible wetroom repair today and tomorrow though. Knackered.
Life's a journey not a destination

i have been struggling to keep up, only because i was ill for 3 months , got 3 jobs start monday , but have taken a week off to work in my unit , bullnosing back orders for other tilers , and been eching some stone peices for customers
very very busy for me and my little bruv is gonna av to work a few saturdays bless him

ANY TILE-ANY SURFACE-ANYWHERE
I know some tilers around here that have been tiling for 10+ years that are struggling a bit. But I know the odd one that's doing really well. Doesn't make too much sense. From what I can gather without looking into it, if you're in a community-style area, perhaps rural but not always, you've got a better chance than in a big city. Loads of reasons will contribute to this but two spring to mind 1) if you're in a big city, everywhere you advertise, there will be loads of tilers right there with you and 2) in rural area's you'll find less tile shops and tilers, so if you're in with a tile shop or some supplier, you're laughing as you'll get most of their work, and in that area, they too will get most of the customers coming too them.
But that's not fact for all big cities and even rural area's as I could tell you a few members that are either doing well in bit cities or doing crap in rural communities. So it seems literally area-related. And often changing annually.
Increase your marketing (not always paying for adverts in places offline or online) if you're struggling a bit (anybody not just the original poster).
