    Default Tiling on anhydrite screed.

Would PVA work to prime an anhydrite screed before tiling on it or does it have to be a specialist ie expensive primer?
It will be in dry rooms so water messing with the PVA will not be an issue. The screed will be sanded etc by the installers.

A "specialist" primer is not expensive.

Some adhesives for these screeds do not need a primer at all e.g. Kerakoll H40 ideal and Benfergyps from Benfer. However I would always primer anyway personally. I would also use a Gypsum based tile adhesive rather than a cement based. If you must use a cement based adhesive then you would be best to go for a water dispersible epoxy primer.

PVA is not suitable as a primer for any type of screed prior to tiling.
you must all buy this song from any good download site for just 79p. Proceeds to Blesma, RAFA and RAFBF charities

Ok, thanks for the quick replies, thats a pity as I've got gallons of PVA.
    Any particular recommendations for primer?
