Default Any tips / big tiles

Went to price a job last night for a bathroom, tiles are 1000cm x 300cm ceramic from Porcelanosa. Will have to hire a cutter as I don't have one for that size of tile.
Anyway any tips would great as never fitted a tile this size before.
    Substrate : skimmed plaster board.

Skimmed plasterboard isnt the best substrate for large format tiles, I recon they will be over the weight limit. Has the plasterboard been skimmed yet? Bare boards would be much better.

I would skim the back of the tiles when fixing them to make sure you get a good coverage and it will help a hell of a lot if the walls are flat and level. Are they cushion edged?

Most tiles of that size will be Porcelain so best check. If there were Porcelain I am sure they will be too heavy. If they are ceramic then the may be under the weight limit.

As above, on another note, how are you planning to fix them, landscape / portrait / brick, what size are the walls ?

Plaster board has already been skimmed / tiles are ceramic and 10mm thick / fix landscape straight stack.

I think they will be too heavy for skimmed boards. Why will you need to hire a cutter? Landscape will give you short side cuts to corners and only ceiling and base cuts on the longer side. Id hand scribe/scoe them and tap the backs or whack them through the wet cutter, or use a grinder?

Those tiles cut a treat as I've put them up a few times. They are quite light too for the size of tile, but would check the weight so not to exceed limit for skimmed wall once you factor in addy and grout. I normally use a 10mm trowel for that tile and always back-skim using a standard or rapid-set SPF addy. Also be careful with the edges, as they chip quite easily.

Tiles of that size can often have a bow towards the centre of the tile. Not much else I could add to the above

The bow shouldnt be too much of a problem in a straigh bond though
