    Why do backs of some tiles have large square recesses is it a deal with the adhesive manufactors use more addy skimming back of tiles why not just make them flat

    Less biscuit of the tile, so cheaper to make..


    Some comps have their own design/imprint as well..

    I always thought it was to allow the tile to grip the adhesive better and give more surface area contact.

    The indents help create suction but back skimming those in helps a lot.
