and yet another bad job
went to my mums on sunday. her husband is a bit(hell of a lot)of a ijeet. he has had a leak coming down a cavity at the back of the house and coming through the ceiling in the kitchen extention for,id say 20 years.
now it only comes in when it blows a certain way, about once a year, could be coming in anywhere.
he has said "its the rendering" its the gap between the window frame"(cavity)"its the silicone""its the rendering" "its the window sill" ect ect ect
now i know, that water can come down a cavity from numorous places in numorous ways, this is why they put cavity trays above windows/doors/extentions ect, which wouldent you know there isent one above said kitchen. i have explained this to sir ijeethead many times over the years, but mr ijeethead knows best. i have hacked render, siliconed silicone filled holes ect.
anyway last week mr ijeethead was walking around focus and he sees 2 men with work pants on,asks them what they do "were builders"they say, gets them to come around to my ums house they say"well its obvious,we need to knock render off under window, build a new flat roof over your flat roof with a better fall on it,re felt it,re lead it
with flashband
paint the roof with superduper waterproof superduper stuff, and put new facias on,lmate,it will be £1750 cash",what dus mr ijeethead do,get them to do it,pays them for all there hard work(4 days) and sees them on there way.
its rains the night after, and drips, rings them up,err, wrong number.
they are both in there late 70's,im boiling with anger and want to not only find these idiots and brain them(with the help of my big bro
)but get a hitman and finish me mums hubby off, anyone know any
i don't know what this dancing thingie is,but it looked cool

Your mums husband eh?
Is there no way of tracking these cowboys down? At least they shop in Focus (says it all!!) so maybe keep a look out for their van.
Where exactly is it dripping?

Re: and yet another bad job
my mums husband makes victor meldew look like peter kay,its a long story.
they live apparently in colne,a town near me,i have 2 first names,i know a few lads in colne so have been in touch with them,i may get lucky.
its dripping down the cavity at the back of the house.when ay dripping,he gets a drip, now and again, when it absulutly chucks it down and blows hard against the back.
to put into perspective how bad it is,my mum has lived there since 1989 it has been going on since then, there is no water mark on the ceiling or in the cavity,i cut a hole in the ceiling and made a hatch in 1991 so he can look up when it happens,i have told him it needs a cavity tray,so any water that gets blown from where ever its coming from, can make its way out of the weep holes.
but as we all know, the costomer is always right, and he is always right. can you tell i don't like him yet
