No, I wouldnt. Get it off, prime the wall and tile.
What is the wall made out of? What tiles are you using?

What is the best way to get gloss paint of my plaster

Sander i reckon
or heat gun and scraper

Careful with the heat gun as you could damage the plaster.

as above, I would make every effort to remove the paint and then prime it before tiling. A definate no no tiling over it.

Tried today to remove the paint on my bathroom wall, OMG what a bad job , used sander and heat gun but it takes forever, 3-4 mins/sq inch
Rung the BAL help line they said if it passes a tape test, which it did with flying colours, it should ok to tile over , what does everybody think

No. Remove paint.

If you tile on the paint the only bond between the wall and tiles will be the paint. If the paint comes off or teh gloss starts to peel then the tiles will come off. Get a course disk on a sander, a decent face mask and get sanding. Got to be worth doing properly, as Nybor62 for the rest.

Agreed. Dont listen to BAL () its not going to bother them if the tiles drop off.
Get it off and tile from scratch![]()

try a wallpaper steamer then score with a sharp scraper , the gloss should peal off. dont steam for to long though.
the paint's got to come off or the consequence are tiles coming off the wall at some point in the future, maybe while someone's in the bath, i shudder to think of the outcome of that.
