    Default expansion joints in ply

    When laying ply do you fill the exspansion joints between the sheets with silicon or put tape over them to stop adhesive filling the gap. If using tape what kind do you use.

    The gaps are just to stop the ply heaving and shrinking back , then cracking tiles.. leaving a gap is just like a stress relief type joint and adhesive won't hurt in it.. it is all about stress.

    I have never used tape or filled the gap before for the gaps, was just looking through the Weber tiling solutions book and that is what they say should be done.
