Had a good day ?
I have, I was only planning on getting a floor prepped for next week. I have had to remove 36m2 of Dorset Stone pinhead tiles due to water damage. Gotta replace them next week. So I thought if I could lift them all and clean the floor off ready for a start on Monday it would be good. I ended up tiling about 8m2 too and removed most of the old tiles into the skip.
That means if all goes well next week I will be a day ahead of what I anticipated.
I have never known tiles come up so easy, I was just pushing a scraper along the floor and they all lifted clean. Dont you just love these days !

Re: Had a good day ?
Up to an hour ago I was having a good day, after two weeks of long hours plus a lot of traveling. I was looking forward to a nice rest over the weekend, got a phone call to say there was some extra tiling to be done on the job I had just finished. Must be done tomorrow, (Sat) never mind at least I should have most of Sunday off, apart from a couple of jobs to look at, and price. Not complaining though.

Awwh, Phil... you need to get yourself some Metatone Metatone Original Flavour Tonic - 500ml - Boots really helpful when you're working that bit too much...

Had an okayish day - thought I'd finish the little charity mosaic today but thought of different things to do to it which needed drying time in between, so will have to finish it tomorrow instead. Had a house cleaning blitz, too

Re: Had a good day ?
Done 3 quotes last week, 2 this week. Still no takers!! Starting to think more about my prices, and the market I'm aiming at just using ratedpeople.com to buy leads. Today I'm thinking I need to do some proper advertising.
As for the day I've had...been working in the garden in the sunshine. Very enjoyable..Helps to get rid of the S.A.D.
Another story about my day....
This is where my work operations are based. A 6mx5m outbuilding at my parents house. I project managed the build of this 13yrs ago when I worked in the payroll department at major construction company. I used my work contacts to get drawings done, quantities surveyed etc. Dug the foundations myself with the help of a few friends, including a civil engineer to help set-out. I asked some brickies from work to build thwe walls, and a local builder to complete the works. We've just had 6 poplar tree's felled, and I'm currently doing the bucking, and chopping up logs to make a wood store for the duel-fuel burner in here.
This place is going to keep me busy this year, as there is alot of maintenance required. And there will be a few upgrades to the front door & new fire. I am currently thinking of doing a tiled fire surround for the wood burner, but I'll start a thread about that if I decide to go ahead.

It's good to keep busy, as they say!!

Re: Had a good day ?
A day of mixed emotions for me. Had a dodgy pint last night, and woke up this morning very ill. Been doing some pebble dashing of my own!!
Didn't get out of bed till after 6pm today as a result, luckily no work on anyway.
When I eventually checked my email. I found out I got on of the jobs I was talking about earlier, and it's the biggest quote....yippee!!
Now got almost a full ensuite to do!!
