    Default Chipboard floor

    Guys I have a job to look at at the weekend, its on the green waterproof chipboard, im guessing i just need to overboard with 6mm cement board and tile that. also what do i use to glue the cement board to the chipboard

    hi chris as long as the floor is stable glue the board with rapid set flexi,and screw it as per manufactures instructions.

    you need to check if its a floating floor, if it is then you will need to think carefully about takeing the job on.

    andy, yes it is a floating floor, but most upstairs bathrooms are these days. I will however make a judgement on the strength of the floor, and wether it needs pulling up and ply'ing however i doubt the customer would want this.

    if its upstairs bathroom then it will be on floor joists, a floating floor is ground level chipboard on insulation.

    are the chipboards screwed to joists dilz?, if so, then yes, a rapid set flexible adhesive to fit your cement boards (and screwed too)

    hi doug, i will certainly make sure they are if its not the case already, will hopefully be going round at the weekend, had 2 weeks off doing bugger all, and now ive got 2 bathrooms and a kitchen to quote. whoooop!
