    Default Radiator pipe collar

I have a high wall mounted towel radiator, which has been capped off. This has made the hole needed to fit the tile bigger than normal. As its not perfectly round looking for a collar just to slot over the pipe that i can stick it to the tiles and hide the hole.

At a quick glance i have found some that are not clip around but seem very expensive for a couple of chrome ones.

Anybody using anything similar and any pointers to what to put on ther?

Or is it that you require solid collars. Your post doesnt make it too clear, but if thats the price they are then surely for a couple of items its not really worth the hassle ?

Really wanted chrome not plastic coated, but ideally one piece as they are at eye level. Ones i have seen about a tenner each. I haven't seen the cheaper ones close up but do they look convincing?

Just a shame as have fitted chrome pipework and made sure valves are full chrome/including caps.

Problem with the plastic snap on ones is while they look okay at first, I guarantee you that they will ping apart a year down the line with all the heating and cooling.

I use plastic one's all the time without any problems and if they do get damaged or look tatty, they're easily changed for little expense.

About £1.50 ea from most plumbers merchants. I use them all the time. And put a small amount of glue on the snap joint stops it popping open.

Will consider both options. Will only have one chance though to fit the non split ones. Nice to know the plastics are of good quality. A friend has an old towel rail i can have, so might check out if it has chrome covers, there could be a common alternative thats more readily available.

I do agree with the point that on plastic chrome fittings that after a few years they go yellow.

This is the silver pipe cover on my kitchen rad and the top has turned a yellowy gold. All that can be done is regular replacement (like every 2 years)

Anything plastic and shiny near heat tends to go brown. Even the white covers I used went brown.

But I have to say the plastic pipe clips have faired better.

Ive got these in my house and its the same colour 5 years on
