Default How to Tile (Trim) around splashback on a window??

    Hi All,
After a bit of help, I'm trying to work out the best way to lay the tile trim around the splash back I'm doing on a window. I'm using this trim .
I'm tiling up to the bottom of the wall cabinets (one is flush to the window) so I've layed the tile trim down the side of the window/the corner where the wall and window meet and I now need to lay a horizontal piece going away from me (towards the window pane). So an external 90 degree corner really. All I seem to be able to find is guides on a 3way miter...but I only have two pieces of tile trim.

    Hope this makes sense.

it'll work if you stand your trim up in your mitre box and not lay it flat.

You need to cut either 2 x 45 degree standard mitres or 2 x 45 degree compound mitres.

Standard mitres - trims sit flat 45 degrees to each other - lie trim flat in a mitre box (buy from local DIY shed) and cut with a hack saw. Trim rough edges with stanley blade or finger file.
Compound mitres - trims stand 90 degrees to each other, but need a 45 degree cut to mitre. Stand trim on edge in mitre box and cut to 45 degrees.

And here was the solution! I wasn't using a mitre box so it didn't occur to me to cut from a different direction. I grabbed a mitre box and bearing in mind this post it all made sense.

    Thanks!
