Re: Getting floor tiles square?
exactly what brinkley said, and easily spend an hour measuring the room out laying them dry, planning your first tile so you dont have silly little ugly cuts. the key is in the PREP!!

Re: Getting floor tiles square?
Laser square, a few measurements going off strategic points like centre of door, unit layouts etc, and then get the best line you can, not forgetting that not a lot of rooms are going to be perfectly square.

Re: Getting floor tiles square?
i use the 3 4 5 method to check/mark a room. e.g. if one wall is 3 metres and another 4 metres if the room is square it will measuse 5 metres from corner to corner. obviously you can scale up/down the 3 4 5 e.g. 1200mm 1600mm 2000mm

Re: Getting floor tiles square?
As above, Pythagorus is your friend.
I always find my preferred datum and "3,4,5" from that.
If it's a small area then just dry lay a few tiles.

Re: Getting floor tiles square?
I'm about to do our conservatory and am seriously thinking of setting the first few tiles out with a square, then screwing battens into the floor and tiling up to them from one side to get some perfect lines.
