    what's your existing walls? my preferred choice is sand/cement render.

    hi there plastered walls except one which is just plasterboard on timber frames

    How thick is the travertine? 10mm or 12mm?

    I'd probably glue and screw 6mm cement boards to the plastered walls and replace the plasterboard walls with 12mm cement boards.
