    Default size of trim

will be starting to tile my shower enclosure tomorrow - tiles will come just beyond where shower enclosure will go and will be finishing them with a silver L shape trim - question is trim recommended by CTD is 10mm deep , same as tiles - thinking about it if I bed the trim so it touches the wall won't my tile edges show taking into account depth of adhesive or does the trim stand away from the wall at the depth of adhesive (hope this is making sense) - thanks for any help

Yes you are making sense! As a rough guide, the trim should be 2mm deeper than the tile to take into account the adhesive, so for your 10mm tile use a 12/12.5mm trim (not sure if you can get 12 that's why I put 12.5).

You will need a deeper trim, it will normally fit the tile if its the good edge but not when its cut. I usually run the fein or a screed rubbing block across the back to make a better fit if there isnt a larger one available and if its a soft tile.
