hi Amj
if your tiler has installed them, he really should be cleaning them off so they look as perfect as how you saw them in the shop/brochure.
are they polished porcelain?

Tiler should leave them in perfect condition and clean as a whistle. I always return next day (or send apprentice) to clean floor or Walls, as it's impossible to do this properly the same day you grout it. You can't be expected to clean up when you're paying him to do the job.

is your photo already saved on a website somewhere? the url address is the http://www
bit in the box at the top of your web browser. you could always try right clicking on that address line and copy and paste the address into the reply box here

well if you're unhappy with the cloudiness then you need to contact your tiler and ask him to come back and clean the tiles again.
do you have a sample or a leftover tile from the installation that you can compare to the tiles that have been fixed to the wall? that way you can show your tiler what your concern is.

Yes I do have spares. He is coming back @ 3pm heh. to finish off a small area of cuts he fitted this morning. I got the impression this morning it was up to me to then clean them off. but it is quite hard and if it is part of his job then he will have to come back tomorrow.
thank you for your help.

Re: Cleaning grout etc off Porcelain tiles, tilers job?
just politely ask him what his method is for getting the remaining grout and cloudy residue off the tiles, and then ask him what he recommends to use to keep the tiles clean once he's finished. that should be able to flush out from him whether he's trying to get off cleaning the tiles properly.

I'm no expert, but wouldnt you seal the tiles before grouting ? That way, cleaning would be easier to do afterwards ?

Re: Cleaning grout etc off Porcelain tiles, tilers job?
i seal "porcs" after grouting not before.

-
Re: Cleaning grout etc off Porcelain tiles, tilers job?
They require no sealer.
If the tiler was not finished then i see it premature to complain .. he has not finished and might just do this on completion. and as he has now stated he will sort it..

Re: Cleaning grout etc off Porcelain tiles, tilers job?
Your tiler should really be leaving the room in showroom condition,If you find he wont come back to clean it which im sure he will if you ask then i would recommend a medium white emulsifying pad and a specialist concentrated cleaner [aquamix grout haze] to remove grout residue!! ofcoarse instructions for use should be read on any type!!
all the best

They are matt.. i said glazed not glass glazed..
as in a matt fired finish.
They are classed as a print matt finish.. loads of them about.

Aha! When I think of glazed I automatically think of the mirrored/gloss/polish finish to a tile. Didnt realise there was a matt fired finish too. Thanks
