Just a quick message to all new tilers, i have only been tiling for 2 1/2 years i only do it part time for four builders and two architects, one interior designer. Im not the quickest but my attention to detail is very good hence i dont have to quote for my work, as they always give it to me as they know my standard is high. So dont worry if you think your slow just get that standard high and you will get work.

Spot on Enduro, quality is everything. I have only been tiling for about 6 months and at the start it really is a worry how long it takes. My first job was a en suite and i said to the bloke "yeah you are looking at about 2 days work" 5 days later at 7oclock at night i was starting to grout
Bloke was really happy with the work though and have had 2 jobs off him alone. It is suprising how the speed actually comes to you without realising it, and you keep the same quality.

Very good advice mate, quality is the most important aspect, speed comes a distant second.

Absolutely mate, the faster you can work the more money you will make, just never sacrifice quality for speed, with time and experience the two will merge.

I had several friends who where builders so they knew my situation, if you know any other trades give them your cards word soon gets around, i found advertising a costly expense, and i get really pi**ed off going to look at a £200 kitchen job only to be told they are getting 5 quotes cant be doing with it so, builders and architects and other trades best for me.
