Was there no primer in the kit? Not sure about using a bal primer on ardex though. Which bal primer is it?
there is no seperate primer in the kit - it comprises of a liquid (solvent free acrylic dispersion) and a reactive cement based powder that is mixed 1:1 and rolled on - I haven't actually got any bal primer but would have used bal primer apd if needed.

Looks to me like it just goes straight on then? If it doesnt say prime then i guess it wont need it

I'm going with no priming - do these kits reduce the weight of tiles allowed?

my tiles weigh 16.9kg /m2 (just had em on scales!) - have got bal supercover rapid flex adhesive - I'm worrying about the plastered wall not taking the weight - will they be O.K?

if its a skmmed plasterboard then its slightly over but i would do it.

no , it's not skimmed plasterboard - the walls were reskimmed last year - so under the skim is the old skim , undercoat plaster and then breezeblock - I'm not looking forward to this reply!

You should be fine on that.
