Did I get a bad tiler? Please help
Hey all
My first post. Just had my bathroom tiled - he isn't 100% finished yet as had to order more tiles. The tiles in one of the corners don't line up with the others.IMAG0155.jpg
See the image it's obvious they aren't Do I get the tiler to take them all off on that wall and ask if he will pay for the new tiles?
I've asked him via email and he says its something to do with the wall but I'm not convinced!
I paid him £100 to tile 4 m2.
Thanks all

Re: Did I get a bad tiler? Please help
This is the latest email between us
ME -Yeah I have I ordered 8 tiles just in case. The wall that were waiting for the extra tiles for the tiles don't line up with the other wall - I'm being a fanny but its going to annoy me! Will you be able to take those few tiles off and re tile them or will it smash them if you took them off?
TILER - I've only put those tiles on top of what was already on the walls, I can take them off and replace and yes they will smash, so you will need to order more if you want me to do that.

Re: Did I get a bad tiler? Please help
IMO it all needs to come off as the large gap on the corner is bad setting out and looks terrible.

Yeah theres not many tiles on that wall where it goes off.
Do I ask the tiler to pay for the new tiles as he says he will have to smash them off?
How do I approach?
Thanks all

Re: Did I get a bad tiler? Please help
I wouldnt dream of taking payment before the job was finished. I always ask the client to inspect the work before I leave.
I guess you paid cash too ? Invoice ?

Re: Did I get a bad tiler? Please help
I didnt think anything of it as only 6 more tiles to put on.
Yeah cash. Yeah I got an invoice via email which I still have on my email.

Re: Did I get a bad tiler? Please help

Re: Did I get a bad tiler? Please help
Could it be the walls in my house? If so even if it was the walls I would expect him to let me know about it and an experienced tiler should be able to get around un even walls I think!

Re: Did I get a bad tiler? Please help
yep, you cant expect to pay him to do a job and then splash out on more tiles just so you can repay him to fix his own mess..

Re: Did I get a bad tiler? Please help
6 tiles? so you are not going to tile to the top?
-

New TilersForums Contributor
Re: Did I get a bad tiler? Please help
Yeah the 6 tiles I had to order are to finish off that wall to the top. But it looks like I need another 10 tiles to replace his mess.
What do people suggest I do? Email him nicely asking if he will pay for the tiles?
