Backer boards or ply?
Hi,
Im new to the forum and i am looking at tiling my bathroom floor which is up stairs, I have done some tiling in the past with some on site experiance with a tilier when i was a labourer, but i am a bit confused whats best to use backer board or ply to put over the floor boards?
The problem that im thinking of using ply is the the high step im going to be left with? i spose which could be around 25mm-30mm which is annoying but ive seen these backer boards at around 6mm which looks appealing could any body kindly give me some advise as to what is best? how to instal? and prep? before laying tiles.
Any advice appreciated.
Many thanks Rob.

Re: Backer boards or ply?
With a 25-30mm step, could you not have a theshhold made up to bring on to the thickness of tile and 6mm backer board
