i posted about a week ago about a job i had coming up with water ufh 25mm ply on top and then i was going to use a de-coupling membrane then trav tiles. the problem is that the plumbers who were fitting the ufh were told to lay 25mm ply with extra noggins. i went round to have a look yesterday after they were finished and what they have done is lay 18mm chipboard then 18mm ply on top of the chipbord (don't know why and customer can't get a hold of them).
my worry is that with the 18mm chipboard then the 18mm ply then the membrane and tiles, will the heat get through all this?
cheers in advance

hope this helps cheers

Re: ufh
sounds like they're just drilled through the joists . i've seen it done like this, it seems a large area under the boards to heat and a lot of wasted heat imo

Re: ufh

Re: ufh
the pipes need to be covered with a dry sand and cement screed the pipes will be fixed to insulation boards between the joists i prosume ,
