right dont use ready mixed adhesive. You are much better getting fast setting white cement based adhesive. Mix it up in the amounts you require and grout within few hours usually. You can spread the wall or the tile as long as you get good full coverage.

And yes prime the wall 1st with SBR or Mapei G or similar...NOT PVA !

ready mixed rapid set ... Not that i know of. For any ready mixed adhesive for walls you would need at least 24 hors drying time before grouting. I wouldnt entertain any ready mixed adhesive for floor at all .
PVA will break down when wet so dont use it for tiling.
