| ply board????????????? | | hi gonna start my first paid job monday it a bathroom floor just wondering what thickness of board to put down?also there is no bath been installed yet should i just take down the dimensions of the bath and mark out on floor then just go over the marks a bit so the bath panel sits over the tile or would you wait till the baths been installed then tile up to the panel?any help would be appreciated thanks. | | |

| Borders can go at any height you (or should I say, the customer) wants. The norm is around 3-4ft from the floor, but I hav seen some really nice work with a border 1ft from the ceiling, it's really down to personal choice.
Just a note mate, the bath must be installed before tiling the walls. | Varley

| Re: border height | | Have a good look at the room, generally most people want it going 'through' a window, above toilet, sink and bath, radiators and below shower units. Look at everything in the room and check with the client. If needs be set the room out first and give the client a choice of heights that look right and make it easyier for you. If you are using larger tiles then there may only be one position for it, small tiles then position is more flexible.
Good luck and everytine you are in a friends house, excuse yourself and look at the tiling when you are on the pot! |
