Last week my stepson administered first aid to one of his colleagues who just had his leg blown off by a landmine while they were out on patrol. Two weeks earlier two of his mates were injured by an IED. One had half his face severely disfigured and the other lost an arm. And this was only from a small encampment These are the stats you don't hear about. Still far from a safe place out there for a brit.

Perhaps try and get MOD contracts (if they have building over there). Saying that, they pay well in this country for MOD contracts.

We turned a contract down in nearby Port Baku in Azerbaijan a couple of years ago, the lads were up for it until we started reading that the hotel rooms for foreigners resemble cells due to people being kidnapped. However this was a hard decision to make because the upside of it was the money was good and the concierges on each floor of the hotel would send out for 'women' should the lads want to be entertained that night.... I suppose that means a dvd and a chinese takeaway...or thats what they told me!

They haven't finished blowing things up there yet...but I suppose that is why the pay is so allegedly good.
