| Tiling a kitchen next week, Advice needed | | Hi, im tilling a kitchen next week but the only thing is that the old adhesicve is still on the wall but it looks like if i remove the old adhesive it will take chunks out of the wall, its plastered underneath.
if the tiles were big enough i think i could get away with just tiling over it but as there only small i can see the tiles wont go on straight.
I was thinking about sanding it all down with an electric sander
Another thing is that i have vastly undercharged which is annoying but if i do a good job i can do his bathroom the week after
Any advice on this would be very helpfull for me | | |

| Re: Tiling a kitchen next week, Advice needed | | Sanding will make a big mess and take you ages!
As Dave said try scaping it off while dry but if you are struggling the use of a steamer is very helpful. Just don't over do it! I have used mine a few times and it works spot on just don't leave it on an area too long.
I also sometimes resort to a hammer on the back of my spare scraper for the really tough bits that won't come off. If you don't fancy trying a steamer. Again don't get carried away.

| Re: Tiling a kitchen next week, Advice needed | | just a thought for TYSFOOT the scrapers the lads are talking about are not wallpaper scrapers but scrapers with long handles and have an open blade on the end,you can buy them from builders merchants or tool suppliers. | | |

What is the rapid se like, does it go on with a trowel like adhesive, how ong does it take to dry
Cant believe ive only charged 180 notes for ten metres of wall and floors of this kitchen, and it good stuff porcelin floor tiles.
