    Default homemade remedies for cold etc

    Does anyone have any effective remedies for this flu thats going around, basicaly something that can make you feel better?

    Whenever me or the kids have a sore throat Mrs tfs make me some tea made with hot water, a little suger and ginger root.

    This works wonders and helps your throat for and hour or so.

    Ive told you our secret remedy, what yours?

    hot toddy, boiled water with sugar in it,a generous glug of whisky and a touch of fresh lemon or orange juice squuezed from the fruit in it,drink right before bed

    My old man used to make that, he said it was good for head aches. I tried it when I was a kid, tasted pretty good too.

    bowl of boiling water, stick a towel over your head and breath in the steam........helps to clear your sinuses

    Eat a couple of raw garlic cloves it will burn your mouth and no one in the house will want you near them for a couple of days, sometimes a good thing but it definitely helps.
