The tile factor!
I've had a moment of inspiration whilst watching the x-factor. Would it be at all possible to create a tv show like x-factor but using tilers? The audition process would obviously take a bit longer but there could be a big warehouse set out with booths where all the contenders could show off their skills then a panel of judges could come round and put them through to the next round or send them home. Televised every week, couldn't do live shows as it might take a bit too long! The panel would decide every monday what the task for the week would be ie. stone, mosaic, walls, floor etc, and judge at the weekend. Eventually all the entrants would be sent home leaving a winner who would win free advertising, a van all tools etc etc. And the contacts to create a tiling empire!
PS I'm not drunk, and I want to be one of the judges! (The moody one!)

There was a plumbing one for Junior Plumbers a few weeks back, just caught it but don't know if there were any other trades involved...

Re: The tile factor!
LOL.
I'm not sure it would have much televisual appeal tho'. No-one really laughs at bad tiling, certainly not the way they laugh at bad performing

I've laughed at some tiling I've seen! It's got to be better than 60 minute makeover, surely!

Re: The tile factor!
Ive seen a tv show cant remember the name but so far it has done best young for plumbers/hairdressers/fishmongers and beauty therapists. they all get the same things to do about 3-4 tasks and then they get drilled on there knowledge!
